The Mitre Committee is raising vital funds for mito!
Each year, the Mitre Committee holds an event at school to raise funds for the Mito Foundation and many students and staff participate in the Mito Foundation’s annual ‘Bloody Long Walk’. We have done this since Hugh Blunt was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease. As many in the Trinity community would be aware, in 2019, shortly after completing Year 12, Hugh died as a result of this devastating disease.
This year, these usual events have not been possible, so the Year 11s on the Mitre Committee have come up with Minecraft for Mito instead. This fun event aims to provide an exciting team-based competition for all students (and hopefully quite a few staff!), while also generating awareness of and support for the great work of the Mito Foundation.

Extra hearts (+8) Each Minecraft character usually has 10 hearts of health, which will regenerate after a fixed period of time. With this effect, representatives will begin with 18 hearts instead. (The 8 extra hearts WILL NOT REGENERATE) |

Jump Boost (+1.5 blocks) A standard Minecraft character jumps a little over one block tall, or one real world metre equivalent. Now, representatives will be able to jump 2.5 blocks high, a 1.5 block increase. |

Movement Speed Boost (+50%) Representatives will be that extra bit faster when traversing the map, or running for their lives, being able to move at 150% of their usual speed. |

|
Guard Dogs (x2) These tamed wolves will help defend your house’s representatives, on top of just looking really cute. |

Health Resistance (+100%)
Compared to a standard Minecraft character, the damage the representatives will take will be HALVED. What was before a lethal drop, is now just a broken leg.

Even if you aren’t playing this Wednesday lunchtime, we still want you to have an impact on the game. So, from this point forward, any further donations on the Trinity Grammar School Mito page will go towards your House’s total. Once your House reaches certain thresholds in the sum amount of money raised, your all-star team will be given certain powerful in-game advantages!
When donating please ensure that your house is listed so that we can allocate the relevant bonuses!
