Hundy for Hugo!

Hundy for Hugo! to raise awareness and funds for mito and remember a lovely little kid.!

Thank you for visiting this page. Hopefully with your help we can make a difference. I am now in training to take part in the Hervey Bay 100 Triathlon which is a 2k swim, 80k bike and 18k run and held at the end of November in Hervey Bay QLD. The event is nicknamed the Hundy and, with support from his family, I am naming my fundraiser the Hundy for Hugo! in memory of an amazing young boy, Hugo Barnhurst who suffered from Mitochondrial disease, a metabolic condition which resulted in Hugo having global developmental delay. Despite his challenges Hugo was an inspiration to the BIS, Phuket community who ran and raised funds in the 2015 event, Run for Hugo! Always smiling, Hugo loved life and showed great determination and resilience, as did his family. Hugo's parents were told that his life expectancy would be short but were hopeful that a cure would be found, not just for Hugo but for all the other families out there affected by this disease. On a much smaller scale to Run for Hugo!, Hundy for Hugo! aims to raise money and awareness to support the Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. Thank you.
