Henry's 10th Birthday Family Fun Day

Double Digits for Henry: Turning 10 and fundraising for a Cure

This March, our brave son Henry would have turned 10. It is a milestone every parent looks forward to, double digits, a decade of growth, and endless birthday wishes. For our family, this March is bittersweet. While we miss the birthdays that have passed, we are choosing to celebrate Henry’s life by giving back to the community that understands our journey best.

Why We Are Fundraising

Mitochondrial disease is a complex genetic condition that robs the body's cells of the energy they need to function. It is a devastating disease that can affect any organ at any age, and currently, there is no known cure.

We are holding this fundraiser to:
  • Support Vital Research: Funds raised will go directly toward essential research into the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mitochondrial disorders.
  • Raise Awareness: One Australian child born each week will develop a severe or life-threatening form of mito. By sharing Henry's story, we hope to educate others about this "invisible" disease.
  • Honor Henry’s Legacy: Every donation is a way to memorialise Henry and ensure his life continues to make a meaningful impact on other families.

How You Can Help

We invite you to join us in honoring Henry’s 10th birthday on 29th March. You can support our mission in the following ways:

  • Attend the Family Fun Day: Join us for a celebration of Henry's Birthday and fundraising event.
  • Donate: Can't attend the Family Fun Day? Please consider making a donation. Even a small contribution helps move us closer to a world without mito.
  • Share: Help us spread the word by sharing the details of this fundraiser with your friends and family. Awareness is the first step toward a cure.
  • Learn More: Visit the Mito Foundation to learn about the incredible work being done for people living with mito.
Henry’s memory remains with us every day. Thank you for helping us celebrate his 10th year by bringing hope to others.
