EVENT DATE

EVENT LOCATION

Roma Street Parklands Brisbane

We're all hungry for treatments and cures for mito. Munch for Mito events are our opportunity to raise the awareness and funds needed to create change. Raise a glass while you raise awareness and together let's find a cure - one bite at a time.

An Event You Can Sink Your Teeth Into

I’m holding a Munch for Mito event to raise awareness and support people with mito.

It's estimated that 1 in 200 Australians carry genetic changes that put them at risk of developing mitochondrial disease (mito). Mito robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure.

Please join me and others from our local mito community at a Mito Social in Brisbane. We’ll be celebrating World Mitochondrial Disease Week

I will be hosting the event with the help of my family, friends and Mito Foundation

This event will be a wonderful opportunity for the local mito community and their family and friends to come together and connect in person. As the sun sets, we’ll watch landmarks like the Museum of Brisbane and Suncorp Stadium light up in green as part of Light Up Mito.

Light Up for Mito is a global campaign where landmarks light up in green to raise awareness of mito. This year it will take place on Saturday 21 September.

Please wear or bring something green to light up, (lanterns & candles available from "Girl With a Green Bow" online store) to show your support.

This event isn’t just about raising awareness. It’s about creating a sense of belonging and support for those impacted by mito. It’s also a chance to make new friends, share experiences, and feel the strength of the community.

This event will also incorporate a Munch for Mito.

Everyone is welcome, we encourage you to bring your family and friends! Join us for a memorable afternoon of connection, support, and laughter.

By sharing my favourite munchables and a few facts about mito we can turn an ordinary meal into one with real impact.
